Twice a year, the American Astronomical Society, or AAS, meets so scientists can share their research with their peers. The 206th AAS meeting is taking place from May 29 through June 2, 2005 in Minneapolis, and many Spitzer researchers are attending.

The AAS meetings occur each winter and summer, and generally there is a flurry of news activity about astronomy as scientists present exciting results. As always, we are maintaining a list of Spitzer-related press releases that come out of the AAS.

The American Astronomical Society was established in 1899. It is the major organization of professional astronomers in North America. The basic objective of the AAS is to promote the advancement of astronomy and closely related branches of science. The membership also includes physicists, mathematicians, geologists, engineers, and others whose research interests lie within the broad spectrum of subjects now comprising contemporary astronomy.
